We are interested in understanding how left-right asymmetry of the nervous system is developed using the small roundworm Caenorhabditis elegans as an experimental organism.
Graduate Students
Graduate students are invited to work on genetic and molecular characterization of tight junction proteins involved in glia-neuron interactions that regulate olfactory neuron diversification. Please contact Dr. Chiou-Fen Chuang, [email protected], if you are interested in our research.
Undergraduate Student Researchers
The lab welcomes energetic and highly motivated FIRST- or SECOND- year undergraduate students with a major in life science. Completion of introductory chemistry and biology courses is preferred. The successful applicants will work in a very stimulating academic and cultural environment, and will have the opportunity to assist with experiments and contribute as authors on publications. These positions will have flexible work schedules that depend on individual's school schedules and can work between 5-20 hours per week that may be extended during summer. Interested persons should send a resume including GPA and a brief statement of career goal to Dr. Chiou-Fen Chuang at [email protected].
